Help Develop Better Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Services in Somerset

Somerset & Avon Rape & Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS) are developing a project that will look at the needs and experiences of women aged 55 and over who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their life.

The project covers the South West of the UK and will give women the opportunity to help develop local support services. It also aims to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions around sexual violence and age.

SARSAS have launched a regional survey and are inviting women aged over 55 who have experienced sexual trauma to participate. The data collected will enable SARSAS to identify and address the barriers to accessing specialist support faced by women in this age range. SARSAS will also develop support resources and information, which they will share with voluntary sector and statutory organisations that work with women.

The survey can be accessed online here

If someone needs help to complete the survey or would prefer to complete it in paper format, please contact SARSAS at info@sarsas.org.uk or on 0117 929 9556.

The survey will remain live until Friday 27 September 2019.
