Suicide Prevention Challenge

Thursday 10th September is World Suicide Prevention Day.

To help raise awareness, you are invited to take part in the Suicide Prevention Challenge. The challenge has been set up by Somerset Public Health, who would like at as many people as possible to take part in Suicide Lets Talk, a free, 20-minute online suicide awareness training session.

The training has been developed by the Zero Suicide Alliance and is aimed at anybody who would like to learn more about suicide and gain skills and knowledge that could help save lives. It includes facts and figures around suicide and provides useful advice and guidance on how to recognise the signs of someone who might be at risk.

You can find out more and sign up here. The training could be emotionally challenging for some, so we reccomend you take part alongside a friend or colleague.

You can find further support and resources on the Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service Facebook page.

If you are in need of mental health support, you can call Mindline Somerset on 01823 276892 24 hours a day. You can also find a range of support services on our Directory.
